Chinese team develops charging and demagnetization technology to help green remanufacturing of wind Motors

According to reports, Huazhong University of Science and Technology held a press conference on the 12th to announce that Li Liang, director of the National Pulsed Strong Magnetic Field Science Center of the university, led a team to use the technology of "non-magnetic assembly-in-situ overall charging and demagnetization" of large permanent magnet wind turbines to realize the overall magnetization, in-situ demagnetization and remagnetization after demagnetization of 26 MW wind turbines. At present, the results are applied. The permanent magnet after Demagnetization by this method can be processed and combined according to new requirements, and then remagnetized to become a new magnetic pole and reused.

 

The service life of onshore wind turbines is about 20 years, and China will usher in the peak period of wind turbine retirement in 2025. Whether it is repaired or decommissioned for recycling, demagnetization is required. Charging and demagnetization integration technology is efficient, safe, environmentally friendly and economical, which is of great significance to the green remanufacturing of large permanent magnet motors after decommissioning and recycling. In addition to wind turbines, the overall charging and demagnetization technology can also be applied to almost all permanent magnet electrical equipment manufacturing, operation and maintenance, and recycling and remanufacturing fields, such as high-speed permanent magnet motors, mining motors, and magnetic resonance imaging.
